Hi.
0:08
Yeah, yeah, I know I’m in my bathrobe.
0:11
I know.
0:13
To tell you…
0:15
I’ve had to film a bunch of stuff as I get ready to release
0:19
my brands. Well, Inshallah has already been around
0:25
for a while but Align is getting ready to be released.
0:28
And so my company, iwei, is getting ready to come out of the closet.
0:34
And I am not a social media person. I don’t do social media.
0:40
Recording this stuff is the first time I’ve recorded myself
0:43
other than like on trips and recording fun things.
0:49
And I know that it’s important to share, to connect with you, to
0:55
connect with those out in the world that I’m meant to connect
0:58
with, who are meant to connect with me, I know that it’s
1:01
important to share my journey. And I’m not afraid to do that.
1:06
If you were standing in front of me as a regular person, I
1:09
wouldn’t have any problem sharing my journey with you,
1:12
sharing how iwei came to be,
1:16
but the idea of turning on a camera and recording it, and then
1:22
putting it up on Facebook or Instagram or my website was a
1:28
little…
1:30
intimidating. And you know you worry about how people are going
1:35
to perceive you so you care about how you look because in
1:38
our society right now, how you look seems to be important to
1:42
get people to notice you. So I was worried about outfits and
1:47
what [inaudible] was gonna look like, and I realized that the only way
1:51
I was gonna get through this and feel comfortable with to do it
1:54
where I’m most comfortable in what I’m most comfortable. So,
1:58
this is my bath robe. This is my fireplace…
2:02
and this is what we’re doing. So, hi. Hi, I’m Stacey, Stacey shell.
2:09
I live in Northern California, born and raised, Northern
2:14
California,
2:16
and I have a company iwei the website’s iwei.one, and I
2:23
have, right now I have two brands: Inshallah Essential Oils, and
2:27
Align Gemstone Diffusers.
2:30
But I wanted to talk to you about how
2:39
iwei came to be because I think… it’s important to me why iwei
2:44
came to be what its purpose is. Now, I’m going to warn you that
2:48
I might cry. I’m not crying because I’m sad. I’m crying
2:53
because this is a big deal for me. Like, talking to you.
2:58
putting myself out there, ready to show the world what I am. Big
3:05
step for me. So if I cry, it’s just an emotional release.
3:12
You’re welcome to cry with me. But you also,
3:17
you know.. don’t worry, I’m okay, that’s just my dove flying
3:21
around, so you can ignore the sounds.
3:25
Okay, iwei.
3:28
So, I used to be in the corporate world. I was a
3:32
financial consultant. I worked for large corporations. But my
3:37
consulting was primarily to cities and counties here in
3:42
California.
3:44
I also did some WIC Consulting at the federal level. I was a
3:48
very good consultant. I was not a good corporate person. I’m not
3:55
good at conforming. I’m not good at just accepting orders and not
4:00
asking why. I’m really good at using my brain and sometimes
4:05
that didn’t go along with my boss at the times, bosses at the
4:11
time’s thought processes of what kind of employee I should be. So,
4:17
I did well in the corporate world. I was in the corporate
4:20
world for like 15 years. I mean, I went to college. I have
4:24
undergrad business degrees. I have a master’s, an MBA with a
4:28
concentration in marketing. So, corporate world is where I
4:32
thought I was gonna live and die, and make all my money. And that
4:38
ended up not being the case. So I lived in the corporate world
4:43
for a long time. And it was you know, I had some good times I
4:47
met my best friend there. He was my boss at one of my first jobs.
4:52
I do not regret any of it but it was difficult. It was difficult
4:56
to conform. It was difficult…
5:00
A lot of people wanted to exert certain levels of control over
5:03
me that I didn’t think were appropriate or necessary. So
5:08
anyways, while that was going on back in 2015, I met who would
5:18
become my second husband. And I just want to let you know, well,
5:22
I’ll tell you that that’ll be part of the story, so you just
5:24
wait. So I met my second husband, and it was a very
5:29
unhealthy relationship. He was very abusive, not physically,
5:33
but mentally and emotionally. He was a hardcore alcoholic, which
5:37
I did not know when we first started dating. It took me a
5:39
while to figure it out.
5:42
Hardcore cheater, had relationships going before we
5:46
got together, but he’s a soulmate. And so when I met him,
5:51
we connected on a level I had never connected with anyone
5:55
before. That’s my cat, William. His name is Sir One Eyed
5:58
William. But anyways, so it was a turbulent two, two and a half
6:05
years with him, and it was very… I can’t express to you how
6:11
broken I became. He’s a narcissist, go I was gaslighted
6:16
a lot. I was made to think I was the problem, the crazy one, I
6:21
had, I can’t even go into the stories of how crazy. I should
6:26
have left long before I did. But I loved him. And he made me,
6:33
you know, he said he loved me, and the feelings I felt, which I
6:38
understand now,
6:41
were more me than they were him, and more about what I
6:46
thought the relationship was versus what it really was. So it
6:51
was really bad. He cheated on me a lot. He would start fights,
6:55
and he would go off and disappear for two or three days
6:58
so that he could drink and cheat and do whatever he was doing.
7:01
And then he’d come back to me. And I wouldn’t know, at first I
7:05
didn’t know that what he was doing when he was gone. I thought he was
7:07
sitting at home sad and crying like I did. But you know, not
7:13
the case. I started to become very emotionally
7:18
drained, and I was seeking help. I was still working my day job.
7:23
And I was working about 80 hours a week, so it was tough.
7:27
But I started to seek help, therapy and stuff. And I was
7:32
this was before we got married, that I started seeking therapy.
7:36
And I’ve had therapy off and on throughout my life. And I it’s
7:40
been very helpful, and this was a turning point for me. And for
7:45
those of you that are more on the spiritual tip, he’s the
7:48
narcissist I’m an empath. So that’s the dynamic that’s going
7:52
on. And you can look that up, if that resonates with you for any
7:56
reason. So, to make that long story short, too late,
8:02
I was doing a lot of therapy, I was very broken, I was very
8:05
lost. I was miserable at my job. And the control that my bosses
8:10
were trying to exert over me, the inappropriateness of my
8:15
bosses, some of the things I was encountering just became, we’re
8:20
piling on on top of this every day adrenaline rush up and down
8:25
of the drama of my relationship. So one day I was in… well, one
8:31
night, we had had one of our dramas, and he had not shown up
8:36
for a couple of days. And then he showed up at my house drunk one
8:39
night, and the next morning, after finding photos of him and
8:45
someone else on his phone. I had already scheduled a therapy
8:50
appointment for myself and he pretended like he didn’t
8:53
remember seeing this person. And he, you know, was like, How
8:57
could this be? And this isn’t right. And I need to get help.
9:00
And I said, Well, do you want to go to therapy with me today? And
9:03
he said yes. It was a very difficult therapy session, and
9:07
never take anyone to therapy that hungover because like
9:12
they’re not even all totally there. And during this therapy
9:16
session I was crying my eyes out. I was bawling. He was
9:19
sitting next to me my therapist was across from us. And I was
9:22
like, I don’t understand, why is he doing this? I would, what have I
9:27
done? and da, da, da, and my therapist kept saying, Stacy, you need to
9:31
choose you. And she just kept saying it over and over you need
9:36
to choose you, and I was like, I said to her I’m here in
9:39
therapy. I am choosing me and I brought this motherfucker with
9:44
me. So how am I not choosing me. I didn’t realize till years later
9:50
after lots of healing and moving away from this relationship,
9:54
what she meant, and that I needed to show up for myself. So during
9:59
this conversation
10:00
I had a note pad
10:02
and on it I wrote i – w – e – i, and I kept writing it over and over.
10:10
And in my mind, I was thinking, how can I choose me? How can I
10:15
stand in my strength? How can I stand in my power and my
10:20
greatness, and then have somebody else choose them, stand in
10:25
their power, in their greatness in their wonderousness of what
10:30
they are? And then together we create, and that was what was
10:36
going through my head. And
10:41
we got through the session he immediately left and went back
10:46
to the bar and
10:48
all that stuff. And I kept that notepad. Now, I am a note
10:53
person. So I turned one of my walls in my house into a
10:57
whiteboard. I bought paint…. So I wrote iwei, and the logo, you
11:02
see now is literally a picture of that, from my wall. That’s
11:08
the logo, I never changed it, I’m not going to. I think it has
11:14
all the power it needs to in it the way it is. So after about
11:19
another year of that drama, and marrying him and only being
11:26
married for 62 days. So you don’t have to be famous and rich
11:32
just to have these short ass marriages. I finally one day, we
11:36
were married 62 days, it was a trauma day, it was very
11:41
dramatic. He had informed me that he planned on financially
11:45
supporting this other person, even while we were married and
11:49
had gone and secretly added her to his home while we were
11:54
married. It hit, it clicked, I was done. I let him leave. I
11:59
never spoke to him again. Well, for four and a half years. And I
12:04
was done. I was not just done with the relationship. I was
12:07
done with the bullshit. I was done with my bullshit. I was
12:11
done with crying all the time. I was done with being mad. I was
12:14
done with being in a world that I didn’t feel that I belonged. I
12:18
was done feeling mediocre and lost and stuck. I was done, done,
12:25
done, and I was done with my company. And I got really lucky.
12:29
So he left in August, August 30th was the day I had him leave. And
12:36
right before the Thanksgiving holiday, my boss who I
12:40
particularly was butting heads with a lot. And the reason they
12:44
couldn’t fire me is because I was so good at my job. But she
12:48
said to me
12:51
while you take this holiday, I want you to think about your
12:54
job. And I want you to decide whether or not you’re on the
12:58
boat. Are you on the boat with us. And if you’re on the boat,
13:02
then what that means is you keep your mouth shut, and you do what
13:06
you’re told, and I don’t want to hear your opinion. And all these…
13:11
it was very surprising. And on that call I was like I’m on the
13:14
boat. I’m like you got it because I needed the money. I
13:18
was afraid to lose my job. I didn’t have savings. I didn’t
13:21
have a plan.
13:24
I was just starting a divorce from a guy had been married for
13:28
62 days. I mean, I had no clue. We got off the phone. And right
13:34
around the Thanksgiving time. I was like, Wait a minute,
13:38
I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to be on that boat. Fuck
13:42
that boat. I want my own god damn boat. So what did I do? I
13:48
went to an attorney. And they luckily took my case, you know
13:53
where they get a percentage after we settle. And I basically
13:58
got out of my job. I got a settlement for some
14:01
inappropriate behavior that I had been tolerating and
14:05
complaining to HR about. And that was it. I was done. I
14:09
didn’t go back. I didn’t go back to that job. I had no plan. I
14:13
had no savings. I had a little bit of money from the
14:15
settlement, not enough to get someone by for more than a
14:18
couple of months who has to pay a mortgage and bills and all of
14:22
that stuff. But that was it, I knew I needed to start iwei and I did.
14:28
I went out,
14:30
I think,
14:32
I incorporated in January of 2019. I left my job of January
14:39
2018. And that whole year was a complete disaster for me. I had
14:47
to, I had to break to be reborn. I had to break to rebuild. The
14:53
divorce if you’re wondering took 14 months. So during that time,
14:57
I was a disaster recovery
15:00
volunteer for the American Red Cross. I did a lot of
15:03
volunteering for that year, as I found myself. I was very lucky
15:07
to be supported by my mother, who has never not had my back.
15:13
And I went on a trip to Egypt in 2018, with a friend of mine,
15:19
which is where I found my fifth generation perfumer
15:25
for Inshallah oils, but I didn’t buy the oils – And that’s
15:29
a whole other story – but I didn’t buy the oils to sell, I
15:32
bought them for myself. But when I came home, I realized I bought
15:36
way more oils than I can ever use. And that’s where I started
15:41
to think about this business. So I incorporated in 2019. And
15:46
during that 2018 year, one of the things I kept saying is I
15:50
wanted diffusers that look like gemstones. And all these ideas
15:54
started coming in things that I talked about at a surface level
15:58
with friends or thought about my head, but never gave it any
16:01
thought because I had an 80 hour week freaking job. I had a crazy
16:05
ass husband that I, couldn’t keep it together, what lie he was
16:10
telling and what was going on. And this whole time, I’m
16:12
thinking I’m the one that’s the problem. And I’m miserable in
16:17
this existence, and I didn’t want to be miserable any more.
16:24
So here I am. It’s 2023.
16:31
And I am releasing my diffusers. My Inshallah line has been
16:36
around for over a year and a half. And it’s starting to pick
16:39
up now that I’m getting into social media.
16:43
I am on the brink of greatness at my company. It’s just me. And
16:49
then I have the support of a couple of friends who are doing
16:52
some of the work that I don’t have the skill set for, like the
16:57
editing and all that stuff. And that, that’s that’s how I came to
17:01
be here. And that’s why I’m here talking to you right now. I’m
17:06
here to, to
17:10
be authentically me. And know that’s enough. And
17:18
to create the reality that I want to live in, not the reality
17:22
that I’m told I’m supposed to be in or that I’m supposed to
17:25
accept or that statement “Well that’s just the reality.” I don’t
17:29
believe that. I believe that we can create our own realities.
17:32
I’ve done it. I’ve been doing it for years now.
17:37
And the purpose of iwei,
17:41
the purpose of iwei it is so that me and you can be in our greatness,
17:47
can be our perfect selves, whatever that is. And then together
17:52
we create the reality, the world, the universe that we want to see,
17:58
that we believe in.
18:00
And it’s not something that’s in the future. Oh, maybe
18:04
one day we’ll have world peace. Maybe one day everybody will be
18:08
rich. Maybe one day everybody’ll have a cat and a dog and be
18:13
perfectly content. That is today. I am living that today and
18:18
everyday I live that,
18:22
and that’s what I want for you. So iwei right now, my major
18:27
brands are essential oils and diffusers. But that is not the
18:31
purpose of iwei. The purpose of iwei is limitless creation.
18:37
It’s a space for you to create limitlessly. It’s a space for me
18:41
to create limitlessly. It’s a space for us to create a whole
18:45
new universe that we want to see, and it will become real, because
18:50
my diffusers were in my head for years. And now they’re real,
18:56
like real.
19:00
And I know you can do that too with whatever you want. And so
19:04
I’m creating a space, I’ve created a space that’s going to
19:08
support that. For every single person that comes into my
19:12
reality. Every person I meet, you seeing this video, it is not a
19:17
coincidence. It is not a happenstance. There is a reason.
19:23
And it’s time for me to be out there and say, Hey, I’m here.
19:28
I’m here for you. I’m here for me, and we got this.
19:35
So that sounds very dramatic. And I feel very dramatic at this
19:39
moment.
19:42
But that’s iwei. And we have other brands that will be coming out, a
19:48
construction brand so that we can help you build what you want
19:53
to build, or take what you already own and make it what you
19:57
want it to be.
19:59
We’ll be
20:00
doing, we’re building a music studio to help independent
20:03
artists get their labels out there without having to sell
20:08
their souls, without having to give up the creative rights that
20:12
they deserve.
20:15
And there’s so much more planned. So, thank you for
20:19
joining me today in my living room, in my bathrobe, in front of
20:24
my fireplace.
20:28
But I look forward to creating a reality with you.
20:32
I look forward to peace and happiness and alignment. I have
20:37
found it within myself by following and trusting and
20:42
taking risks, what we would call risks and leaps of faith.
20:48
And I wouldn’t change it for the world. So thanks for being here.
20:53
Thanks for choosing to be on this planet right now. Thanks
20:57
for being you, the greatness that is you. Thank you for your
21:01
light. And I look forward to building this company with you.
